RE: Dread's - Cpap Therapy Thread
I was wondering. Can a ent diagnose UARS? Or do I need to see another study with RERA.

RE: Dread's - Cpap Therapy Thread
I’m wondering because on August 27th I have a ENT and was wondering about it. I do know UARS was a possibility due to my high arousal, and low AHI, however I feel exhausted and drained still. Unfortunately my study did not measure RERA

Otolaryngologists analyze the upper airway and identify abnormalities and issues that affect the upper airway, and potential solutions. While they may include CPAP among their recommendations, ENTs are more likely to recommend surgical repair to physically improve the airway clearance and integrity.

We don't diagnose anything here or attempt to give medical advice.
We advise based on our experience with our own therapy and others here on Apnea Board. However, we would be able to get a good feel for what a few nights data on your machine would reveal, and go from there. You will be fine, keep your ENT appointment and let us know what they suggest. In the meantime, try the settings suggested.

Of course. I was just wondering if I’d need to go to another PSG for confirmation. I don’t know what kind of doctor diagnoses UARS. Apnea is more diagnosed around here.

RE: Dread's - Cpap Therapy Thread
OSA and UARS would both be treated by using Cpap, or Bipap.
You're thinking too far ahead, let's see what your data shows.

RE: Dread's - Cpap Therapy Thread
Really? Alright. I will try the CPAP and let you know the data. That way maybe CPAP helps my improvement a lot. I’m really hoping I see my cognitive abilities come back with cpap. Time and patience I guess

RE: Dread's - Cpap Therapy Thread
I’m probably over thinking this but when do you give up a machine? I read encouraging posts like people had cpap not work, and jump to asv and a few months it helped. If you don’t see improvement after months?
