Dread's - Cpap Therapy Thread
RE: Dread's - Cpap Therapy Thread
would it be more helpful if i go to 7-20, wear the mask consistently and try 2-3 days and report the results?

Your last chart only shows 1 hr and 25 min. total. It's not a good idea to keep changing pressures based on that small amount of time.

Yes, you need to try to wear your mask more. You said you feel that it's not enough air, so go ahead and raise the minimum to 7.

If you wake up, don't remove your mask. Re-adjust it if necessary, but keep it on and try to fall back to sleep.

Imgur.com/a/10Rkxi8 I had been recommended a 6-9, but oof. Brought the AHI a lot lower. I’ll slowly like 1-2 days bring it to 6-8 so we can see consistent results.

What do you mean by "I’ll slowly like 1-2 days bring it to 6-8"? You already had your settings at 6-8.

Yesterday it was slowly upped to 6-9. Felt worse. I’ll slowly adjust pressure back to 6-8 and see how it fairs for a few days with consistent use. Any suggestions? this looked like my best consistent session yet. AHI does not look good however.

Curious if cpap causes diaphram weakness. The range of motion is worse. I saw a saw a few studies showing it thickens but your thoughts. Feel like a ton of force to inhale with diaphragm.

I’m wondering your guys thoughts?

Just a thought.  The 1st article is about neonates.  I would personally throw that one out because their lungs are immature and still growing and developing.  The 2nd article said that with Pressure Support for inspiration, no lung thickening is happening (no lung weakness caused).  Resmed has the EPR feature that should help.  My ventilator can increase pressure support (as can other pap machines - VAUTO, ASV, ST, ST (A) to name a few).  I think the Philips "flex" can too, but I am not that familiar with the flex option.

If it feels like a "ton of force inhaling" with a relatively high, constant EPAP pressure, you could try turning it down a little bit (but then balancing that against OA's, H's, etc.).   Working on positional apnea could enable you to decrease your EPAP pressure also.

InterestingZ. It’s felt like my diaphragm got much weaker. Range of motion more limited and ended up harder to use it. I end up having to push off the cpap to use the diaphragm.

Like I need more native pressure to use it.
