Looking for help to review settings
Hello,
I'm new to the forum but have been on BI-PAP therapy for approximately 2 years. Last time I saw my sleep doc was when he prescribed the device 2yrs ago. My AHI prior to therapy was 238 and I now average 1 to 2. I have noticed lately that the machine makes me feel like I need to inhale and exhale faster than I naturally breathe; i'm a slow breather. As an example, if it takes me 4 secs to fully inhale, the machine is cutting the high pressure off at 2 seconds (just using these numbers as an example; not sure how long it actually takes for me to inhale and exhale with the mask on). I tried playing with some settings last night 5/1/23 (Changed Ti MAX to 4s and TiMIN to 3s and trigger/cycle to high and had difficulty sleeping as exhalation didn't feel right) but not 100% sure what i'm doing.
My settings for the past 2yrs have been
ResMed
AirCurve 10 VAuto
PAP Mode: VAuto
PS 4.0 over 8.0-20.0 (cmH2O)
MIN EPAP: 8.0
MAX IPAP: 20.0
Ti MAX: 1.0s
TiMIN: 0.03s
TRIGGER: MED
CYCLE: MED
MASK: PILLOWS (USING RESMED N30i)
RAMP: 5min
START EPAP: 4.0
My doctor has never reviewed the data since starting therapy over past 2yrs. It doesn't matter how much sleep I get even with the machine reporting low AHI, I still wake up feeling tired with brain fog and bloating. I'm hoping some of you can provide some insight to help improve my sleep.
