Surprised
Noise
Sometimes, halfway through the night, my machine or mask makes a "hookah pipe" noise. Sounds gurgly, bubbly. I have to take off the mask and sleep without it for the rest of the night. This makes for a poor night's sleep overall. I don't know what to do to fix this. Oh-jeez

RE: Noise
It sounds like what we call rainout, water vapor from the humidifier condensing in the hose. One way to deal with it is to locate the machine well below your sleeping position so condensate will flow back into the humidifier. That of course can be challenging. Turning down the humidity setting will probably help. Also a Resmed climateline heated hose will prevent or reduce condensation. Some use an insulated sleeve over the hose.

Water in the hose.

You can turn down the humidifier.
You can use a hose cover.
You can buy a heated hose.

I've had that. It's awful.
Suggestions will help you.
I bought my ResMedS9 E used. I added a heated hose. my problems with rainout ended.

RE: Noise
Search for cpap hose holder on Amazon. This reduces (not eliminates) rainout. You may need a longer hose however.

Whats the problem with it? just disconect the hose from the mask and cpap, grab in the middle, spin one end for 10s fast, spin the other end for 10s, reconnect, done.

RE: Noise
Since I'm short of the word count I am allowed to use today (JK), I'll just say ditto to the above on rainout, heated hose, and adjust settings to reduce condensation in the hose.

I had this same issue on the PR DreamStation BPAP because the Duck doc I had didn't believe I was worthy of being allowed to have a heated hose. My solution was to get a case of Central Apnea so I could get a ResMed ASV with a heated hose. But now I've been told they coulda just sent me a heated hose!?!?!?!?!?!

Maybe hoses could come with a drain port in the middle.
