Resmed Mask Official Packaging?
Hi everyone!
I'm a CPAP user since 2020 and i hadn't really noticed it's benefits until two nights ago: The cushion on my Airfit N20 got a tear and started leaking onto my eyes so i had to take it off and couldn't use it these last two nights. Man, had I fogotten how bad this feels!
So, i spent these days trying to get a replacement mask which is no easy task here in my county. First, there are no replacement parts available, so i have to buy a complete mask, second, there seems to be a shortage right now for this particular model and size and every other mask i was tempted to try (like the dreamwear or the n30i with the new cushion) and third, international shipments take too long and sometimes "get lost" in transit to my country.
I ended up finding a seller locally but i'm not really sure how to feel about this mask since it comes in this plastic "pouch" kind of bag, instead of the box i remember from my first one. The bag does have Resmed branding on it and seems to be sealed.
Counterfeit products are quite common in my country so i wanted to ask you if Resmed did ship products like this and what should i check for before buying or after receiving the mask.
Thanks beforehand!

Hi Pomingo!
That is a real Resmed mask. Basically all new masks come in bags, regardless of the brand.

Thanks a lot for your reply. I was so afraid of having to go through another sleepless night!
I ended up buying it and it feels pretty nice. Maybe a little tighter, but i assume that's because it's new. Didn't notice any cosmetic differences with my first one either, except from the packaging.

Yes.....looks legitimate to me as well. I've received ResMed masks in bags like the one you posted.

Once you find a good mask, have a back up on hand. Same goes for hose and water tank. It's a good idea to have a back up CPAP machine, too.
One of the reasons you can't find some replacement parts is because the mask is designed for only 3 months of use. After that it is "worn out". Same for hose. Water tank is 6 months, CPAP machine is 5 years. This is the standard set by Medicare in the USA, and it's pretty much followed by all insurance companies.
