Evora FFM Phantom Leaks

Evora FFM Phantom Leaks
Been using the Evora FFM for about a week after using the Resmed F30.  Had leak problems with the F30 around the nose, and find that the Evora seals much, much better.  In fact, the Evora seems to seal perfectly -- I almost never can feel a leak when running a finger around the edge of the mask, except for the air coming out of the exhalation ports.  However, my OSCAR report shows extensive leakage!  I know that the data is supposed to take into consideration that the Evora aggressively exhales air through the front ports.  But I'm wondering whether I'm getting phantom leakage reported when, as a side sleeper, I fully or partially block one of the ports.  Otherwise, I'm really at  a loss as to where these supposed leaks are coming from.  Any ideas on what I should do next?

Can you post a screenshot just so we can take a look at the leak graph.

And did you tell the machine you were using an FFM?

Yes, I did.  I was switching from a Resmed F30, so I already had that setting right.

You should set Pillow as there is a thin tube like the F40, as dear Nick says here.

I also had a "fantom leak" with my Evora mask. I discovered it was the small clear hose connection at the swivel. I "fixed" it with a couple of teeny tiny rubber bands where the air was escaping - sort of like applying a washer, but on the outside of the connection.

Thanks.  Seems logical, particularly since the design does putatrain on that connection.   I’ll give that a try.

Glad to "help!"

Since my last reply, I purchased a new Evora mask and used it without ever disconnecting at the swivel - Took the whole mask off for midnight bathroom trips and put it on again after... Again, the leak reappeared by the end of the week. I contacted my DME who hadn't a clue why this is happening... They suggested a call to Fisher & Paykel..  So, I contacted Fisher & Paykel about my leakage issue and "quick fix." They were very interested and are sending it to their design engineers "at the home office" to see if they can make the necessary improvements. I also suggested that possibly they should make a quick disconnect while they're at it for those of us who need to do a late night bathroom break... It could help the connection last longer.

So, apparantly, if the rubber bands fail and the leak comes back, I can upgrade to tape or glue with no issues...

I have to try this.  I found sometimes there’s leakage between resmed hose and Evora hose, but my AS 11 never reports it as a leak. Cool

Curious if you ever heard back further from F&P about this issue and if they offered a more permanent solution?   I’m having the exact same problem with my Evora and about to try the rubber band solution after finding this thread (thanks)

My problem isn’t so much the leak which doesn’t register but about the noise it makes since it’s often right next to my ear when it’s noisily leaking and wakes me up.  Annoying.
