FAA compliance report.
Hi all,
I was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea which was surprising given my age and fitness but after a week of usage I am feeling much better. I am an airline pilot and I need to show compliance higher than the standard DOT requirements. I have to show six hours of usage per sleep session, at least 75% of the time.
I am using two machines at the moment. The mini air and the Resmed air sense 10 which will stay at home. The mini air reports are no problem. The air sense 10 I bought from a friend so I need to figure out how to generate reports because I cannot use the app for this. I have tried to use OSCAR but the reports only show the compliance for four hours per night. I need to show six hours.
Any advice as to how I can generate an adequate report?

Hi CO4545! -
If you go into
File ⇾ Preferences ⇾ CPAP, look on the right side for
General CPAP and Related Settings ⇾ Compliance Defined As. You can increase this from the default of 4 hours to 6 hours. The Statistics printout will now show the 6-hour threshold.
Note: Since this question deals with an OSCAR question, I have moved your thread to the Software Forum.
RE: FAA compliance report.
Thank you! Now to find out if the FAA will accept this report.
RE: FAA compliance report.
If they don't accept it, you will be relegated to ResScan. Unlike the AS11, ResScan will read the AS10's data file. . . albeit, a real PITA piece of software.
RE: FAA compliance report.
Hello! I'm having the exact same issue but how you resolved your issue, I'm unable to do the same.
For context, I'm in the Army and trying to submit a flight packet to become a pilot. Since I have sleep apnea, I have to show compliance for 5 hours as well but they need to see the data that specifically states such.
I tried doing the same thing that fixed your issue, but for some reason OSCAR isn't registering my changes at all and I don't see a save button or anything of the like anywhere on screen. I know it's not registering my compliance change because the "reset to default" button on the bottom of the screen does not go from grayed out to black at all like the other data screens whenever you change something.
Do you have any ideas or know where I could go/contact for further help?
Thanks for your time and any help!!!

Hi 5leepy4ead! -
Go to
File > Preferences > Clinical. In OSCAR v1.5.3 that is where you will find the "Compliance defined as" option. There are "OK" and "Cancel" buttons in the lower right of that popup. If you can not see them, then you will need to zoom your system out until you can. Another trick is after editing and pressing "Enter" for the new compliance value, count 3-tab presses and hit "Enter". You will probably need to rebuild your data afterward (
Data > Rebuild CPAP Data).
Go aviate!

RE: FAA compliance report.
If your report is challenged, offer to provide them with a duplicate of your SD card with a statement that this accurately represents up to a year's worth of summary data for compliance and 30 days of detailed data for analysis (ResMed). They usually decline the offer and accept your report.

RE: FAA compliance report.
Crimson Nape, thank you for the warm welcome and you've saved my butt, sir!!!
Thank you sincerely for the help, the zoom did the trick... Not sure what I was doing before.
That is a sneaky idea, I like it! However currently with army flight physicals, it's all digital and they're extremely particular with how they want things. Since I'm not a pilot yet either and just a specialist, they won't much care about the workaround I think.
Thank you for your input! I was just not able to get the hour compliance changed.
