Jim, the labeling of the periodic breathing line is an unfortunate error in the programming of Sleepyhead. Fortunately you can change the labels to Periodic Breathing (PB) for the graphs in File/Preferences/Events. You do not have CSR and there are a number of reasons this pattern can be recorded. I have experienced it, and with a limited extent of time, it's really not a problem.

The ResScan application also labels it as CSR, so it must misidentify it too.

I was reading a 2006 article by the American Heart Association that says CSA is synonymous with CSR and that they both fall under the umbrella term Periodic Breathing. The author also says and that the breathing pattern can be associated with either H or CA events. Things must have changed a lot since then. I think it is sometimes dangerous to read old papers.

Yeah, I still have a leak problem sometimes. I don't know what triggers them. I'm going to try routing the hose differently and see if that helps.

First, CSR is a very specific type of periodic breathing with a distinctive waxing and waning of respiration volume punctuated by a CA at the low point of respiration. Mostly associated with congestive heart failure. It is not a synonym for CA. Always occurs with CSR, but you can have CA without CSR for many reasons. This is a pretty good example of what a CSR looks like on a non-ASV CPAP. It is persistent, continuous and in this case, associated with CHF. If you ever see this, get to a hospital.

As Sleeprider says CSR is usually associated with Congestive Heart failure. Periodic Breathing can have periods of CSR type breathing but the peak to peak period is usually shorter than 1 minute. Periodic breathing can be induced by the machine and in combination with a bad nights sleep. As others have said just keep an eye on it and mention it to your sleep doc.
