Flow limitations in “S” mode

With Aircurve 10 set in S mode how does one distinguish between OA and CA.  I thought the distinction was FL or lack there of?  In S mode machine does not seem to report flow limitations.

If you want the "S" mode and Flow Limitation reporting at the same time, try this. Based on your profile, set your AC10 to VAuto, EPAP min to 10. IPAP max to 14, and the PS to 4.

I am quite new to this as just got a machine last Friday and am obviously still learning.  If I set machine to V Auto with Epap at 10, Ipap max at 14 and PS of 4 does that mean my Epap varies between 10 and 14 and Ipap between 14 and 18?  I thought the  pressure support varies off the Epap setting.

So OSCAR does not show FL in S mode correct?  Also am I correct that on OSCAR you need the FL to distinguish between Central Apnea and Obstructive apnea?

No, you set the EPAP at the starting pressure. The IPAP max limits how high the IPAP pressure can go. The PS is the offset (delta) pressure between the EPAP and the IPAP. EPAP + PS = IPAP.

Using the following values, EPAP =10, IPAP Max=18, PS=4 will cause the VAuto to start at an EPAP of 10 and an IPAP of 14. It can increase the pressure up to a maximum of 18 for the IPAP, meaning that the EPAP can only go up to 14.

Have now had my machine in use for 13 nights and I think I am doing well.

I am using in the "S" mode and see more CA's than "OA's".
Can someone explain how you distinguish between the two in "S" mode.
Also I think the CA's are occurring while I am awake which I think makes them insignificant.  Is that correct?
