Hearing a squeal every 2nd or 3rd breath
Now in my third year of CPAP therapy. Recently, my machine began emitting a quiet "squeal" every 2nd or 3rd breath. I've tried everything I can think of to fix it. Sometimes I think it's fixed, then it comes back. It's not super loud, but it is annoying and will sometimes wake me up. I've tried readjusting the nasal pillow, since that seems the most likely. Recently I completely removed and replaced the hose attachment to machine. That seemed to work and I went back to sleep, but the next day, the noise was once again audible. Last night's Oscar screenshot is attached, in case any of you guys can spot something suspicious there.

RE: Hearing a squeal every 2nd or 3rd breath
Sometimes when I get a noise in my mask it’s usually caused by little water droplets from washing that make a high pitch sound near the exhaust holes. Usually a flick with my finger dislodges them.
On another note, your chart looks great but your flow limits are high. Have you tried EPR 3?

did you try to completely replace the mask? maybe some connector is damaged or something. maybe the hose is damaged? try to put it underwater see if you can spot air bubbles maybe.. just reaching really.
regarding your oscar charts that is quite significant flow limits, maybe you should raise pressure a little or some EPR.

No, I really haven't been experimenting with machine settings lately. Will look into that.

Both the mask and hose are new within the last 2 or 3 weeks. But I will try your suggestion about the hose. Also, do need to try changing pressure or EPR.
Thanks!!

You might even try disassembling your mask and then put it back together. I use ResMed AirFit F20, F30, and an F40. I switch masks every now & then. If they aren't properly assembled, they can make noise.
They can be a bit of a hassle to take apart and put back together, until you get the hang of it.

Is the noise coming from the mask or machine? If my mask gets to wet because of condensation in the hose, the one way flapper valve definitely makes a thumping noise.

RE: Hearing a squeal every 2nd or 3rd breath
A while back, I could have sworn that my ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet was making a noise from the air filter end of the machine.
I did everything that I could think of to resolve it. After the dust settled and the smoke cleared, come to find out, it was my mask causing the noise. Those masks, they're a strange animal...........

RE: Hearing a squeal every 2nd or 3rd breath
I hear a squeal if the humidifier tank in a S10 is not sitting properly and a rotation of the tank while it is in the machine of a slight bit by hand removes the squeal.
