Resmed Aircurve 10 VAuto Mechanical Problem?

Resmed Aircurve 10 VAuto Mechanical Problem?
For the last 2 nights my Aircurve has cut itself off briefly before powering back on by itself. The first night I woke up not being able to breathe and pulled my mask off to get oxygen. The second night I was laying in bed awake at the time it did it. Has anyone else had this problem happen with their Resmed? I have already had to send this machine into a repair shop to have the blower motor/fan replaced and now this. I have attached screenshots of both nights when it happened. I hope I don't have to send it back in for service again.

RE: Resmed Aircurve 10 VAuto Mechanical Problem?
I have been reading where others have had this problem with the Aircurve, AirSense and the S9. Some had mentioned their problem was the Smart Start feature where if you have an leak over a certain volume the machine thinks you have pulled your mask off and so it shuts down. I have Smart Start turned off on mine and it still does it. It happened again last night. I just wish I could figure this out because it is very annoying to keep getting woken up in the middle of the night not being able to breathe. I hope someone has some ideas or suggestions.

Look at the power cord on the back of the machine. Is it pushed it all the way?

You can also do a reset by unplugging at the power source and machine, wait a few minutes and plug everything back in.

The connection was okay but I also tried the power cord from my AirSense 10 and it did it again. The first two nights it did it at home and last night I was staying at my daughter’s house when it did it. I don’t know if there is any difference in unplugging it and waiting a couple of minutes and plugging it back in. I can try that. What I can’t understand is that it only does it once per night.

I experienced this type of event, My Pulse/Oximeter confirmed the ResMed did stop providing pressure, I too have "Smart Start" turned off.

I will review some OSCAR Reports, I believe I may have see this prior to obtaining the Pulse/Oximeter.

I will keep monitoring this thread.

By “cutting itself off” do you mean the power went completely out on the machine? Or did it just stop blowing air for some period of time? Trying to figure out if it may be the motor, power supply, or a control board.

Given that you have sent it in for repairs once, most repair shops do some kind of diagnostics before shipping it back. Of course, if it is only intermittently stopping they may not have seen the failure.

I don’t know if the machine completely cut off or not because it started blowing before I had a chance to look at it. Next time it does it I will make sure and check. I sent the machine in for repair back in August and this problem just started. It has done it the last 3 nights in a row. I started using my AirSense 10 last night until I get this problem figured out.

RE: Resmed Aircurve 10 VAuto Mechanical Problem?
Last Friday night I thought the machine had cut itself off again because I remember having to pull my mask off to breathe. I have attached a couple of screenshots of the event. This is something I have never seen before. It shows an Unclassified Apnea that lasted 90 seconds in which the pressure never increased while it was happening. Then a couple of minutes later the pressure did increase. I hope someone will take a look at it and tell me why this might had happened.

Thanks,
Mark

One thing in passing. I noticed that your Ti Max is 1.7 and so was your 99.5%. The Ti Max should be a larger value that your 99.5%. Otherwise, it will drop the pressure while you are still inhaling. Unless there is a reason that I'm unaware of, I would set it to something like the Default 2.8 seconds.

IThe only settings I have ever changed on this machine is pressure and ps. I never changed the setting for Ti Max. I am wondering if it was changed when it was repaired. I guess I need to check all settings. I have always wonder how I could go from having an average AHI of 0.9 for the last year before I sent the machine in for repair to right after getting it back, my AHI has gone up to close to 5.
