Higher AHI after getting up to use restroom

Question
Higher AHI after getting up to use restroom
[attachment=51215][attachment=51214]I was diagnosed with OSA , AHI = 27.5, and started using a Resmed 11, with a P30i nasal pillow in April. I adapted to it immediately (I know – lucky) I get over 7 hours of use per night, and I only get up once per night to use the restroom (prior to CPAP it was 4 times). I have noticed a pattern between the two sessions, the first session has a fairly low AHI, but the second session has a much higher AHI and they are mostly CA’s . Last night my AHI prior to getting up to use the restroom was 1.63, but after returning to sleep my AHI rose to 16.07, giving a total AHI for the night of 5.28. I do have to say that my use of CPAP has been great, I actually look forward to bedtime whereas before I dreaded it!
So, any idea’s?
Attached are the two sessions from last night, thanks.

RE: Higher AHI after getting up to use restroom
One thing I noticed about my Oscar data after a night bathroom visit was the awake-sleep junk as I was returning to sleep which negatively impacted my numbers.

Due to the larger number of clear airway events, I am reluctant to comment further. I am sure some forum members will take a deeper dive and provide suggestions.

Best, Steve

I see periodic breathing mixed with the CA events. A couple of 5 minute views would likely shed more light on the issue. Also focus on the start of those clusters, let's see if we can see what's initiating them

The first one is more telling. The initial spike is an arousal the first CA is you holding your breath likely the result of a tossing a bit, latter ones show a rounding that is more typical of CA but not as much as we typically see in CA.

The second chart you did not get the start of the sequences but looks similar.

My guess was that because I was not in as deep of sleep after returning to bed that it was me tossing and turning, this seems to be the pattern (after looking back over the last month of data) On the whole I am very pleased with my sleep since starting CPAP, and I was just looking to tighten up my numbers...

RE: Higher AHI after getting up to use restroom (Solved ?)
I did some experimentation with using a soft cervical collar, and it cleared things up for me. It does appear that this was positional, since starting to use the collar I no longer have clusters of events in my second session, the results are pretty consistent for the entire night. My AHI's are now between 0.94 - 3
