I'm having weird skin issues that aren't going away when I use the Airtouch N20 nasal mask. At first a pimple developed, but I stupidly picked at it and it turned to a scab, and then with enough agitation from being a side sleeper and be still being stupid by picking/peeling the scab, this thing never has had a chance to heal. Now I notice skin breakage/soreness on the other side, and I havent even picked at it!
I don't think the mask is too tight, but it might be too big/small...these "skin lesions" for lack of a better word occur to the left or right of my nose, not on my nose, where the mask I assume is facing a lot of pressure, being the point of contact.
I would stick with my F20 mask that I got alongside the N20 mask, but the F20 again leaves a red mark on the bridge of my nose....so either way I lose. And I used the F20 a ton for a few months so the straps are failing as far as velcro goes. Weirdly, no skin breakage with the F20....only the N20?
Is this an issue with the silicone material that was recommended because of my mustache? Is this an issue due to an improper sizing? Mask being too tight, or too loose that it jiggles around and causes abrasion? I don't like the idea of paying 100$ to try on different masks. The sizing guide for the N20 clearly suggested getting the small, but the Lofta person said they run small so get the medium instead... maybe its as simple as that.
FWIW, I have the resmed airsense 10, I'm a side sleeper, and I have a mustache.
