Hydrocodone - Affect CPAP Results?
I recently had some dental surgery done and was given a small prescription of hydrocodone.
My AHI went thru the roof, like 17.8, whereas my typical score is < 2.0. I only took the one night, and things returned to normal. Is this a "thing"?

RE: Hydrocodone - Affect CPAP Results?
Hydrocodone is in the opioid analgesics class. "Respiratory Depression is the most serious adverse reaction associated with opioid use, but it usually is seen with the use of a single, intravenous dose in an opioid-naïve patient."
Your experiment showed how it affected you; and great news that you returned to normal after getting off of the hydrocodone!

It affects different individuals differently. Considering it increases your AHI, and probably central events, you should probably not use that medication.

My wife is a long-term opioid user due to chronic pain. A lot of her events are central and when she uses the machine, it works quite well. The nights she doesn't use the machine, her AHI is above 20. With the machine, around 2 or 3.

Homer, what machine is your wife using? That's pretty good results, does her device have a backup rate?
