Increased Anxiety/Irritability after Starting CPAP?
Hi all - was just diagnosed with mild OSA (AHI = 9) and severe PLMD. I have started CPAP to take care of the OSA and am experimenting with different treatment options for the PLMD.
I have finally been able to keep the mask on for a majority of the night these past few days. AHI is down between 2-4 now. I know this can be improved, but is increased anxiety/irritability something that anyone here has experienced at first?
I want to note that it is not anxiety about usage or about sleep in general. I am actually starting to find the mask/process of setting up the CPAP every night relatively comforting. It's legitimate anxiety seemingly from treatment itself. Maybe because CPAP treatment has been seen in some instances to increase PLM's and this is more than offsetting the lowered AHI? Just spitballing.
I have a wonderful member here that has looked at my OSCAR data and provided feedback (@gainerfull) , but let me know if you think seeing some of this data would be helpful as well.
I want to keep going, but it is even worse than before I started. Fatigue is no different either.
Thank you all in advance for your responses!
