Inspiratory Waveforms - Literature vs. OSCAR

Inspiratory Waveforms - Literature vs. OSCAR
Hi all,

I was just wondering if anyone could help me evaluate which part of the OSCAR Flow Rate I should be comparing inspiratory flow rate classes to? I'm specifically referring to the ones from Arora et al. (2015) (originally from Aittokallio et at. (2001)) shown in Attachment 1 vs. the Flow Rate from OSCAR shown in Attachment 2.

Vs.

Should I be looking at the portion of the wave form for Flow Rate that is above the red "Zero" line to compare? Or should be it the whole shape? I'm trying to figure out if I should classify myself as Class 1 or Class 6 (details in Attachment 3).

I know this is kind of getting in the weeds, but I'm trying to understand where I am now to evaluate how new therapy tweaks are improving (or not) the Flow Rate shape. I'm also looking at the ApneaBoard Wiki page: Flow Limitation.

Thanks so much!

The tops of your waves look very good IMO.  Nice and round.  The 6 classifications refer to the top of the wave above the zero line or so.

Thanks so much! It's good to know that I'm supposed to be looking above the red line, and that my waveforms look good. Thank you for your feedback!
