When I put my Resmed 10 at a higher pressure, let's say above 13, the machine's blowing noise becomes quite noticable, and hard to fall asleep to. Is this normal?

I guess it's just a perception thing. What might be noisy to one person may not bother another. Although, it's normal to hear the sound of your own breathing.

Both my ResMed machines are whisper quiet. My pressure never goes above 14 though.

Well, mine's definitely not whisper quiet, and it seems the noise of the machine travels up through the hose, making my mask very noisy. I think something's up..

My 10 AutoSet is dead silent. A while back though, it was making a howling noise at the end of the machine where the air filter is. I did this and that, and it did stop. I do think it was the mask causing the noise.

My machine is set @ 11. I've had it as high as 12 and no noise. All I hear is my own breathing.

Check to make certain mask and humidifier are actually locking in place without leaking. Even my RT from the DME mentioned my new 11 series has humidifier sealing issues. It's a free check to verify proper seating.
