Hooking up the battery; a question.

Question
Hooking up the battery; a question.
So, if the power goes out, and I need to use my marine battery; which is still on green light on my gel battery tender (I will make sure to completely disconnect that before using the converter) when I hook up the ResMed cable, do I clamp it on to the battery first, then plug it in, or the opposite?

It is the DC 12 volt converter cable for my Aircurve 10, ASV.

Thank you.

Clamp onto the battery first. Always go downstream from the power source to the device you are powering.
