Looking for advice

RE: Looking for advice
I try to avoid the SCC unless other solutions don't work, so there is no rush. You are aware of the problem and should do what you can to prevent it. I'm sure the one you ordered will be better.

Can I ask why you try to avoid the SCC?

Mostly because I don't need it Smile

I just live by the least invasive solution as the best one. If the problem can be solved easily by changing a position or removing a pillow, I'm not going to add a collar.

RE: Looking for advice
That makes good sense to me!! For the sake of figuring out if I'm dealing with positional apneas I think I will try the collar for now. If we do find out positional apnea is the cause I will go back later and try a small pillow instead of the SCC. I do toss and turn quite a bit so I think for now the SCC is the way to go.

Good morning Sleeprider,

I did have some issues getting used to the SCC but I was able to get a few hours of sleep with it on.  I am going to post three pictures of Oscar data  and I will post another three individual events so you can see in closer detail.  I look forward to hearing your observations and where I should go next.

Here are the other three:

Good morning,

I had a better nights rest last night and woke up feeling fairly refreshed, which does not happen often ?.  I would love to hear your feedback on yesterday and today's Oscar data.  Is there any other tweaks you would like to try or are do you think I should stay where I'm at for a bit?  I am only able to attach one picture of Oscar data.  This error pops up when I try to attach another: Sorry, but you cannot attach this file because you have reached your attachment quota of 5 MB

RE: Looking for advice
I'm seeing a lot of inspiratory flow limitation, and a few expiratory flow limitation or palatal prolapse. I'm pretty sure most of this is positional because it happens sporadically. If you include the flow limitation chart, I'm sure it will show correlation with the pressure increases and events. The reason I'm inclined to see positional flow limits is that your pressure stays low and steady until it suddenly shoots upward. The presence of RERA along with hypopnea suggests obstruction. Keep working on the positional issues, and let's try EPR at 3 to see if that reduces some of the flow limits.

Look at your leak rate graph for May 2. You see those extended periods of time where the leak rate is elevated?

Your dry mouth could be due to the fact that you're breathing through your mouth. The soft cervical collar should stop that.

Also, try turning off ramp. It's a feature needed only by beginners.

RE: Looking for advice
Sleeprider,

I have attached the flow limitation chart.  I notice quite a bit of activity on the snoring chart.  That is new, I normally have zero activity on the snoring.  I am still adjusting to wearing the SCC and will continue working on it,  but I see the results already. It seems the clusters of apneas are fewer and my overall AHI numbers are down.  Tonight I will set the EPR to 3 and will post the results tomorrow.

RE: Looking for advice
Sleeprider,

I have attached Oscar data for last night(5/8)  with the EPR at 3. I am starting to sleep easier with the SCC.  Do my flow limitations look better with the EPR at 3?  I will post another reply with the data from 5/7 so you can see that night as well.

Sleeprider,

Here is the data from 5/7 EPR at 3
