Well.....I've been leaving mine on since I received it.
All seems fine, and since I could be thought of as an old dog, well.......you know the rest.

My calculator has standby mode using 80 watts (5w x 16 hrs)per day or 1 KW every 12.5 days. Which makes the cost of standby mode 1 cent per day.
