[Treatment] Newbie and a question or two
#11
RE: Newbie and a question or two
Thanks OpalRose,

I am riot sure how you want the breakdown so I have done it in weeks since the commencement of my therapy. Hope this is OK or I can re post per your suggestion.

These figure are from ResScan because I cant find a way to report weekly in Sleepyhead. Don't know why the last few weeks are suddenly giving me a median of 0.0. Obviously a fault in the software.

Might head out today and get a chin strap to try. Already using large size pillows.

RE: Newbie and a question or two
iwlong -- we could be long-lost twins . . . I have the same experience with CA clusters in the early morning, typically within 30-60 mins before getting up. I'm still getting adjusted to CPAP therapy (only 17 nights in so far), so I'm hopeful that things will settle down in the next few weeks. I'll be interested to see how your therapy proceeds.

By the way, I'm using a nasal mask and taping my mouth shut each night with surgical tape to eliminate lip bubbling and mouth droop.

Good luck!

RE: Newbie and a question or two
iwlong,

CAs during the awakening process are normal and even people who are not sleep apneacs have them. This is especially true if one spends a long time in the in between state while waking up. Your body is trying to determine if you need asleep breathing or awake breathing. Sometimes I get apnea clusters while awakening and sometimes not. I do not know what the difference is. Several nights ago, I had a great night going up until my awakening time when I had a cluster of CAs and OAs. I would have scored an AHI of 0 for the night except for that. I do not worry about them. It just irritates me a little that I can not pinpoint what it is that makes the difference.

Keep up the good work.

Best Regards,

PaytonA
