Mask pressure wave form with obstructive events
Is there an example of a zoomed in mask pressure waveform that coincides with an obstructive event that someone could post? I have primarily centrals, but the machine reads an occasional obstructive as well. My understanding is that there should be a difference in the mask pressure wave form that allows the machine to differentiate between the two. I don't see a difference between the two on my read out.

Begin with learning to read the flow rate and other charts. You are looking in the wrong place, at least as someone new to reading OSCAR charts.
Our wiki contains much useful information. Start with the following links… https://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.ph...ral_apneas https://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.ph...#Flow_Rate

You should be looking for the difference on the flow chart. The mask pressure is the input, since this is the machine's control, it should be the same. The difference should be in the response. If your airway is occluded, it won't make much difference to the flow, if your airway is open, the open space in your lungs will allow more air to slosh back and forth with the same oscillation in pressure.

Thank you. So we should expect to see larger oscillations on the flow rate wave form in a CA event. What I see looks pretty similar. 98% of my events are CA. I read that the machine can at times wrongly flag events, so I am wanting to see a zoomed in view of a confirmed OA to compare. Here are the events with the associated flow rate wave form:

So what does the full OSCAR daily look like? You mention primarily CA, 98% of how many total? If you're still getting CA, dependent upon source and diagnosis, you might be on the wrong therapy.

RE: Mask pressure wave form with obstructive events
Oh yeah. It's already known that I'm on the wrong therapy. I'm in the process of jumping through the insurance hoops to get an ASV machine. I'm just curious about differentiating between OA and CA events with out relying on the ResMed algorithm. It bugs me that my diagnosis is "mixed apnea" because out of 100 events 1 is interpreted as obstructive.

RE: Mask pressure wave form with obstructive events
Copy. I've been there. What treatment machines have you failed yet? That's the real ironic thing, you'll need to fail CPAP, and BPAP, supposed to be ST as well, then onto the winning the ASV. I skipped ST, because I told them ASV is the answer for CA.
You'll likely have to complain lots, and highlight everything bad about your CA with CPAP, and BPAP if you get there. You'll be in the hard place of needed treatment on the right device, but needing to be good at failing lesser machines.
