Mouth tape for bearded people
Hey everyone,
I've been growing out my beard and I've noticed my 3M medical micropore tape isnt really doing its job well anymore and i end up getting mouth leaks. So I'm wondering if anyone else also has a beard and if they have found a good mouth tape to use.
Thank you

There are chin bands that supposed to keep your mouth shut (not your lips).
There is a kind of tape used for carpets, I don't recomment that as it won't let go when you want to.
Another no go seems what children do, putting chewinggum in someones hair, very difficult to remove.

MedVance silicone tape works very well for me, but I don't have facial hair. I have read that 3M Durapore tape works well but have not tried it yet.

you can use cervical collar

Give Fixomull stretch a try. Micropore didn't work for me, either: it was too weak.

I have a short-trimmed beard and found a little trick to use with a nasal mask. I bought some 2 inch wide stretch rubber bandage and after taping my mouth with adhesive tape I wrap the rubber bandage over my mouth and around my head like a gag. Not too tight, just snug. The bandage is grabby and you can just lap it a couple of inches over itself in back of your neck to secure it. Then put on the mask, and the back of the mask headgear will secure the bandage in place even better. No worries about the mouth tape popping loose, moving or leaking. The tacky rubber bandage grabs beard, cheeks and neck, but is perfectly comfortable, peels right off in the morning easily and painlessly with no glue to clean, and can be re-used multiple times.

I have short facial hair. I use a 2" x 3" piece of CoverRoll tape at night and it works perfectly for me. The seal is great and it releases without irritation in the mornings.
RE: Mouth tape for bearded people
I have a beard and just switched from a nasal mask to a full mask. It took some experimenting but I made discoveries that I'm glad to share. Unfortunately, it required a system of three items.
My beard hair is soft and lays flat under the mask, so leaks were not an issue in the beard area. However, I had occasional leaks on my cheeks, and I discovered that a light application of Gold Bond Ultimate lotion (Walgreens and similar stores). The lotion, which has aloe, is applied to just the silicon mask edge. It makes an excellent seal. I tried several chin straps before I found one made by Sunset (CS007M Ruby Style from my CPAP supplier). It's perfect for keeping my chin up and it stayed in place. However, even though my mouth was closed, the CPAP air pressure pushed my lips apart at times, probably during an apnea event. A 5 inch strip of tape did the trick. I tried different brands but 3M Nexcare Paper tape had the best holding and it's easy to remove with a wet washcloth. The tape is applied by pressing your lips closed while applying the tape lightly to the beard and mustache. After that you can relax your lips and get a good night's sleep.
As good as this system was for me, I wanted to simplify things so I'm now working with a full face mask and confronting other issues. It's a constant learning process!
You'll do well.
Hal

Thank you everyone for your recommendations!! I tried the cover roll stretch tape as someone commented and so far it seems to be working for me and sticks better to my beard. If this doesn't seem to work, I'll try the other suggestions listed here, thank you!
