New User - Getting Discouraged

RE: New User - Getting Discouraged
Thanks Jay, my mistake was when I used other group discussion board, you went to the subject/thread you were interested in and you either replied to an ongoing discussion or you started a new discussion. As I could not find a "new" option to start a new discussion on my situation, I was lost…

I may have to get used to this board and more importantly to learn about sleep apnea as there seems to be more technical knowledge here than through all sleep technicians I have dealt with in my journey on sleep apnea.

Last night wasn't as good but I did sleep.  The gap in here is because I had to take my wife to the airport.  Still leaking but not large leaks.  The flow limits also seem high.  I am getting to sleep and even dreaming but I still have not had a night of uninterrupted sleep so I'm hoping that can happen soon.  As always, any further advice is very appreciated.  You guys are the best.

Don't know what it is but I get scared during the day that I'm not going to sleep well that night. It probably is affecting how I sleep too.

I still wake up during the night and I have not found an answer to that.  Your flow limits are causing problems but we already have the settings as high as they will go.  About the only thing I know you can do is to gradually move the Min up and move the max up the same amount until it is where you like it and causes the least interruptions in your sleep.  Remember that one night may have more events or Flow Limits, every night is different.

So should I up the max? My doctor said the only time she worries about flow limits is when someone has a respiratory illness. That sounded strange to me.

Well, that's not true Smile

I would set your max a little higher maybe .5 to 1.0 higher for now.

Your Dr. gave you those first settings....  Yes raise the min 1 raise the max 1.  See how that does you can go up again if needed.

My doctor didn't give me any settings. They just handed me the machine and basically sent me on my way. It was at 4-20.  They even acted annoyed when I changed the settings.

I think you are to the point wher we look as how you are feeling.  That takes a few days. You are doing fine, just want small tweaks needed
