New and not sure about my charts

New and not sure about my charts
Hi everyone,

I am new to the community and newly diagnosed with sleep apnea.  I got my airsense 10about a week and a half ago and the sd card about a week ago. untreated my number was 34.6. I am already feeling a difference with my apap. I have been trying to read my Oscar data and make adjustments, but I am not really sure I understand. I did read the wiki. I have pressure relief set at 2 because at a setting of 1 it feels like I can't exhale, and at 3 it feels like I can't inhale. 2 is like the three bears setting for me, just right. I have ramp turned off because any pressure below 8 and I feel like I can't breathe.

Just noticed my screenshots are blank. I am using Ubuntu and will have to look into what it going on. Sorry for the post!

RE: New and not sure about my charts
Glad you posted the new charts. I know I'm colourblind, but looking at the first charts I wondered if I was Stevie Wonder...

First, please organise your charts according to the link in my sig "Organise your OSCAR charts".

You are doing a bang-up job on finding a good starting point. You have two basic issues. Your leaks are affecting things, so they need to be dealt with first. You need a better fit with headgear or properly sized cushion. There are a number of good videos on YouTube that can help with mask fitting and adjustments.

Second, you have flow limits driving up the pressure and causing swings. Consider trying a pressure range of 10-14 EPR 3 full-time. That should be enough pressure to manage the OSA events and reduce the flow limits without causing discomfort.

Give it a go and let us know how it works. And please work on the leaks as they will continue to impact sleep and therapy.

RE: New and not sure about my charts
Thank you for the reply and advice. I will try to get the large cushion I have been using on the dream wear full face to seal better, if not I will try out the medium to see if it's better. They both fit and don't leak while I am awake, I suspect perhaps the larger more comfortable while awake moves in my sleep.  I will make the adjustments to my machine and give it a go tonight.

My apologies about the order of the Oscar data. I had already read the proper format but still didn't get it right. Will the order stay correct once it is set properly?

Thank you again.

No worries mate. Easy enough to fix. And yes, the changes will stay in place once set.

RE: New and not sure about my charts (updated charts)
Switched over to the medium cushion last night and made the suggested changes. I also figured out how to go to just the time I was actually trying to sleep rather than using the machine to try to get use to it while awake. This seems like a huge jump forward in the right direction to me.

How do you feel this morning? Things look really good, so before we try to tweak anything I want to make sure the juice is worth the squeezing.

RE: New and not sure about my charts
I woke up before my alarm went off this AM and feeling GOOD! No morning headache, my brain is firing on all cylinders, and for once I am in a good mood in the morning. Quite a large change. I think you helped me find my perfect setting very quickly and if I am honest I just need to keep an eye on my charts and make sure they stay like this.

I appreciate the help and advice!
