New to Cpap been a month can't sleep all night
Hello Everyone,

I am hoping to figure out my sleep problem with your help.

I don't know much about the terminology but I will try my best.

Here is what the sleep study report shows.

pAHI   14.79

Apneas 82

Oximetry

Oxygen Desaturation Index 19.3
Lowest Saturation 85
Oxygen Saturation less than 89%     0.9 min
Min Pulse Frequency    34
Max Pulse Frequency 90

the prescription setting says 5-20 cm H20

I have the airsense 11 with a heated tub and dreamweaver pillow mask.

My problem is I am having frequent urination at least 4 times a night. I seem to not be able to sleep very long before having to get up. Or maybe its because I am up I am going to the bathroom.

I just got prescribed [[[please REPORT me, I am a SPAMMER]]] 5mg starting 2.5 mg tonight.

I will attach a few nights of the oscar report to see if it makes sense to you. I have no clue what it means. I plan to learn what it means but I am too sleep deprived to learn at the moment.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Hopefully my first post is done in a fashion that follows the rules and is posted in the the right forum.

Bridger, your results look great, but to reduce arousal I’d like you to change settings to turn on EPR Full Time at setting 2. This should stabilize pressure and feel more comfortable. Give it a try and let us know if that makes a difference.

RE: New to Cpap been a month can't sleep all night
I changed it to 2 and will see how that goes tonight.

I also sometimes feel like I can't breathe. Sometimes when I wake up I see that the machine is running at 4. Although at those times I don't think I am in a deep sleep.

Its been hot lately not sure if that is it. I have the climate temp setting on auto and the the humidity on auto. My nose always feels dry I'm not sure if changing the settings can change that. I usually use less than a half of tank of water.

I have the auto ramp setting on with the pressure starting at 4 not sure if that needs to be changed or not.

Thanks for taking the time to help me. Much appreciated!

For climate, I use the manual setting with humidity at 4 and temperature at 27C (80*F). Never seems to be a problem. Your pressure is already pretty low, and I don't see any utility in using ramp.

RE: New to Cpap been a month can't sleep all night
Okay I made all the changes you recommended.

Here is what happen.

For the first time in years I was able to sleep past the 2 and 3 am times I usually wake up.

I went to bed at 11pm and I am not sure but I think I just got up at 4am to run to the bathroom. That is a huge deal!

I sometimes get up every hour.

Now I noticed my events were 1.4 but man it felt good to sleep a bit and not have to constantly get up to urinate.

Also for the first time staring cpap I was able to sleep on my side instead of may back. Somehow I woke up on my side.

I attached 3 screen shots of the oscar report.

Hope I can keep repeating this every night or maybe actually sleep all night.

Thanks!

Great results!

May I make a suggestion?  When organizing a chart, we need to see the following graphs:  Events, Flow Rate, Pressure, Flow Limitations and Leak Rate.  If we need to see others, we would request it.  This way, instead of posting 3 graphs for one night, you only need to post 1.

Set your display to the Standard view.
(View > Reset Graphs > Standard)
Take a screenshot of your Daily screen.
   * For Windows or Linux: Use the F12 key
   * For a Mac: Use Fn+F12

I think we are going to keep these settings through the weekend to get a baseline, but I suspect we will level-up and crush the remaining flow limits and arousal. Hang in there. This improvement is impressive
