OSCAR and NONIN 3150 oximeter?

OSCAR and NONIN 3150 oximeter?
Hello guys!
I have access to a Nonin 3150 oximeter . So I thought I'd try to sleep in this oximeter. Then I'll upload the scores from Noxturnal to Oscar... But it doesn't work. Oscar does not read the file format in which saturation is saved in Noxturnal. Any idea how to solve this problem? regards!

RE: OSCAR and NONIN 3150 oximeter?
Hi Polskafriend ! - Welcome

Since you are, so far, the only person asking for this device, I can't provide much hope. Without knowing its data structure, I am unable to suggest using an alternative device's loader. On the other hand, if you know how to write code, OSCAR is completely open source. You can see how other oximeter's code is written for importing their data. You could then write a loader for your oximeter. That's the best I can offer.

RE: OSCAR and NONIN 3150 oximeter?
If you had a ResMed machine - s9 or AS10 and the Nonin to Resmed adapter then OSCAR would impoort both the CPA data and the Nonin data and display both...

I guess that's not very helpful...

This Nonin model is a different animal from what we perceive as a Nonin oximeter.  Here is a picture, of the WristOx2 3150.

RE: OSCAR and NONIN 3150 oximeter?
Does OSCAR support receiving data via serial COM port? The nVision software is required to read the data from the 3150 by COM but perhaps OSCAR could be modified to support that also. I suppose that nVision could also be used to save the data and import that into OSCAR, but that would be less useful since nVision costs $300.

The Nonin 3150 BLE also supports bluetooth for delivering data, is there any precedence for that channel type in OSCAR?

OSCAR supports the 3150 BLE with a Resmed AS11.  The AS11 streams the oximeter data in with the CPAP data on the SD card.  You just need to use the pairing function on the AS11.  No, OSCAR does not support serial COM interfaces.

Thanks for the reply Red. I was thinking it may be useful to import the data from this oximeter without requiring a CPAP to be paired, for example to investigate if your apnea has improved when not using CPAP (but maybe that doesn't make sense in the context of OSCAR?). I've just received the 3150 and have been able to record data using their free to download phone app called Nonin Connect. Using this app the raw recorded data from the session can be emailed as a csv attachment (see below for an example).

Date,Time,SpO2 (%),PR (BPM),PAI (%)
09/23/24,13:21:45,96,60,11.20,
09/23/24,13:21:46,96,60,11.52,

RE: OSCAR and NONIN 3150 oximeter?
Nice! I see it is providing a sample every second. I know what a Perfusion Index (PI) is, but its range is .02% to 20%. I don't recall seeing a Pulse Amplitude Index (PAI) before. All information I can find is a bunch of highbrow stuff that doesn't seem to address the numbers your Nonin is displaying. Did your oximeter come with any descriptive information on this parameter? If it is a simple thing, then color me stupid.

RE: OSCAR and NONIN 3150 oximeter?
Here's the manual: https://www.nonin.com/wp-content/uploads...Manual.pdf

The only mention of amplitude I can see is the following but I'm not totally sure what it means:

> Low Perfusion Testing This test uses an SpO2 Simulator to provide a simulated pulse rate, with adjustable amplitude settings at various SpO2 levels for the oximeter to read. The oximeter must maintain accuracy in accordance with ISO 80601-2-61 for heart rate and SpO2 at the lowest obtainable pulse amplitude (0.3% modulation).

I'm also going to get nVision so I'll be able to check if there's a reference to PAI there and let you know.

Do you think there's any interest in OSCAR importing this csv?

RE: OSCAR and NONIN 3150 oximeter?
The URL is a manufacturer's website is totally acceptable to list here.  It is not a sales portal.  I have edited your post to allow others easy access to the file.

As far as the CSV file, with a one-second sampling a seven-hour sleep session could easily be 25200 lines at basically 32 bytes per line would yield, with overhead, a file size of almost 1 MB.  It would be better to see if the binary data used to generate the CSV file would be more efficient for importing the data.  It's definitely worth considering.  Does Nonin have a PC version of their software, or is it a mobile app only?
