RE: Oscar sessions seem wrong
Look under the Color column in the Preferences > Events tab. The colors are displayed for each type of event. You can also change the colors to suit your needs.

I did look but still don't get it.
Look at the screenshot I am including.
It is part of the pressure graph.
There are 4 colors.
The pale blue has no match in Preferences Event tab.
The orange and yellow (in same bar) has no match.
The red would refer to "Snoring event", this I get.
The pink has no match in Preferences Event tab.
Looking at Preferences Waveforms is not better.

RE: Oscar sessions seem wrong
The colors have no particular significance so there's no explanation available. In any individual chart, the colors may change for each segment to help you see the segments. You can hover over a bar and the breakdown is shown.
In the AHI Overview, the colors of the segments match the color of the index on the Daily page.
In the Usage graph, red is for days that are not compliant. I'll have to look up what the green bars are for as I don't remember off hand.
RE: Oscar sessions seem wrong
Additionally, look in the Waveforms tab at those colors.

I think your green is my pale blue.
If that's the case, I just realized that there are no data for that day in my database. So blue or green would be no data available.

Change to bilevel
Maybe this should be posted in the Main Apnea Board Forum, but it started here.
After some discussions and trials, I have a better general sense of what is happening with my machine and therapy.
I am hoping you will have comments on the following:
All data was extracted from Oscar reports.
Pressure before Feb 05 was 6/16
Pressure after Feb 05 is 15/20
The mask was changed from medium to small on Feb 12.
Total_AHI is always number of incidents in concerned period divided by total duration of concerned period.
See file: Screenshots.pdf page #1
Flow limitation for week ending Feb 02 was 0.5
Flow limitation for week ending Feb 09 was 0.42
Flow limitation for Feb 09 to 15 is 0.24
See file: Screenshots.pdf page #2
Indicators for AHI, Obstructive, Hypopnea, RERA and 95% Flow Limitation show a constant decline since Feb 05-06.
See file: Screenshots.pdf page #3
It seems to me improvement is showing since high pressure was set to 20 and mask was changed from medium to small. Although there are only 6 days of therapy, when compared to before, the results are better. If my assumption is right, if I keep doing the same thing, the indicators should get to lower values which is what we are looking for.
One subject of our discussion was the need (or not) to get a bilevel machine to get more pressure since the curves showed it was ramping up to max almost every session.
Looking at the last days it does happen less. One thing peculiar is that the pressure for some of the session is low at beginning and ramps up at the end before awakening.
Session Feb 15 is most explicit in that regard.
See file: Oscar Feb 15.png
Is that an explainable phenomena?
Finally, can the AS 11 I have do the job or is it still advisable I change it for a bilevel?
It might be borderline but, with the trouble involved with requesting a change, if what I have now is acceptable for the long run, that would be my first choice.
All/any comments will be most welcome.

Median Pressure Going Up
Hello everybody.
I'm back after some research, discussions and analyses.
Early in February I set the high pressure of my AS-11 to max (20 cmH2O).
Since then, my AHI, RERA and 95% Flow Limitation are slowly decreasing.
But the median pressure I get from Oscar is slowly going upwards.
I have set up appropriate charts which are included in the file DanEm Charts.pdf.
We have had much discussion about my machine not able to deliver enough pressure with your recommendation to change for a bi-level one. I have asked around and looked for such a change. Unfortunately, the Canadian authorities in the matter impose that I have a prescription for that. For my lung specialist, my case is too borderline to get her to prescribe a bi-level. The suppliers request such a prescription to sell you one.
With the results I am getting at the moment, I think I can be optimistic and stay with this machine for now.
Since the machine has but one component (or set of components) that measures pressure, all pressure measurements given are calculated from that unique one. (Mask pressure for example, there is no sensor in the mask, but knowing the length and area of the tube you can calculate the pressure drop.) The reference material say that the mask pressure is measured more often than others, not more precisely.
So, can you explain what is the median pressure I read in Oscar Sessions Export.
What is it used for?
Have you an idea why that pressure is slowly increasing. We are talking of a month-long period of increases.
I hope you can enlighten me on this.

RE: Oscar sessions seem wrong
OK, The Median value is actually at the midpoint of all the data. Its value represents you being at that value or less for 50% of the sleep session. I don't understand what you're trying to figure out with the graphs. Sleep apnea therapy in not linear. You are going to have good days and bad days. This variation that you are seeing, could be from a host of external factors. Things like physical activity, especially when you normally don't exercise, a particular meal or beverage you had prior to bedtime, and even a humidity or temperature change of your sleeping environment. One thing that even I was am guilty of, is getting too far into the weeds. Any therapy is better than no therapy. I would say ride it out and see where you are in another week.
I realize this isn't probably what you are looking for, but it's the best I can provide.

I know what a mathematic median is.
I know what it represents in general terms.

What I am looking at is the trend.
With trends you can see a bit where you are going.
For me it is a way to try and prevent bad surprises.
Doing so I noticed that the Median Pressure mean is steadily going up.
I was just wondering if it means anything.
You can see on the bottom chart in my pdf that the progressive average is going upwards since the beginning.
Looking at the included screenshot, the pressure and EPAP seem to be fine.

I can assure you that my environment and my activities have remain the same throughout the period considered.
No variation worth mentioning.

I will do exactly that. That is my routine. Every day I sleep then check the figures. My intention is to keep doing that until I feel confident I am on a regular pattern.

Maybe you know the feeling of how nice it is to have someone to talk to about all this.
That is a big part of what I like about the forum.
I thank you Crimson Nape (or is it - Red) for making me feel that I am not alone.
You just made my day :- )
