RE: Washing Filters ResMed
Quote:I saw a posting warning not to use caned air as it may have an additive that makes it taste bad to keep people from blowing into their mouth. blowing this into your machine may not be a good idea, as well there are so may crevices and corners this would be a poor way to clean the inside of a machine. if you need to clean the inside of the blower unit take it to an electronics shop and have them disassemble he unit and soak the blower and internal air chambers with isopropyl alcohol for 24 to 48 hours.blowing air may damage sensitive pressure transducers , dont do it!
What was said about using alcohol was . - to use it on the Silicone seals , silicone parts , take silicon anti shock Vibration boot off of the blower ! .. Do Not Use Alcohol on The Blower or Electronics !
guess I go back and clarify that

Tetrafluoroethane is used as the propellant gas in inhalers.
Big Brother/Nanny State has mandated that stuff like Dust Off has to include "bitterants" that make the spray smell/taste bad to prevent people from trying to get high by inhaling it.
These bitterants would probably be a bad thing if you spray them on your CPAP filters. Or anywhere in the airflow path.
Get the free OSCAR CPAP software

If it's midnight and a DME tells you it's dark outside, go and check it yourself.

Just read the can -- and it does have bittering agents.
How nice. I cannot get a pure chemical because some idiots might inhale it. TFE can stop the heart; so, anyone who would inhale it will be removed from the gene pool.
