RE: CPAP and PpO2 data out of sync because of summertime
I do/ have to sleep as long spells of sleep as possible, when possible, to at least manage my sleep debt. Because I have also a free wheeling circadian rhythm, among with my other sleep/circadian rhythm problems, I need to sync with the outer world to manage even my most necessary affairs - things I absolutely have to do to be able to live an independent life. Living in an institution would be even more difficult for someone with my condition, because they have a very rigid circadian rhythm. In some ways this helps keeping a normal circadian rhythm, but doesn't work for long if yours is constantly getting off sync. You easily end up with a sleep debt, even though someone does things for you, so you don't have to. The same problem goes for hiring someone to help you to manage things. Consider me having a time zone of my very own, which constantly tries to move forward in time. When I say alarm, I do mean alarm clock function. All other alarms in all my machinery (ResMed, computers, phones etc.), except phone calls, which I need to take, are off. As well as managing my affairs, I need to see other people (which live in the normal local timezone), as just I live in mine. Being always alone, despite the electronic world 24 hours awailable now, is going to make you go nuts, even if you get on with your self fine and don't get bored easily finding things to do. Practice makes perfect, even in a not so ideal situation.
