This is so exciting to feel awake and refreshed at 4-5 pm... I am usually dragging... Still have to work part time to pay the bills, Self employed Dog Groomer, Been doing it 40 years and still love it but was hating LONG hard days, now I say " Bring them on" Wish I had done this long before... I was in DENIAL... Thought I was just getting OLD...

It's pretty amazing isn't it? I wasn't in denial, so much - I *knew* I had sleep apnea. I actually told my doctors that. There was no question. In my case, I just hate doctors and hospitals so much that I refused to do anything about it for years. When I started to micronap between sentences, though, it became time to do something about it. It wasn't *quite* as bad as I make it sound, but it did start to get scary - I wouldn't even think about driving more then a few minutes without someone in the car to talk to, for instance. As long as I had something to engage me, I was fine, but give me 10 minutes of boredom and I could nod off. 10:30 am, and 3:00 pm were rough stretches at work, unless I was programming something. And I can't recall seeing the ends of "the 9 o'clock movie" for about 3 years...

9 hours on APAP the first night, and all of a sudden I can concentrate on a manual long enough to learn what I looked up, (and retain it!) stay alert to 11, 12 at night, and I haven't nodded off or micronapped once. I honestly feel 10 (or more) years younger.

Quote: I told my wife of 44 years . "if I get to feeling any better she was going to have to get me a young girl friend for Christmas". NOT going to happen, no matter how good I feel. Grin

Yeah, my wife didn't take that well, either. :-p

RE: NEWBIE, in TROUBLE ?
I have a Respironics Remstar Plus with CFLEX. I have been living in China for 7 years and do not have a therapist. My machine has an SD card installed. What software do I need to read the AHI data. It does not appear on the machine itself, just total hours, etc.

Thanks for your help!

Hi beijingmac, welcome aboard
Respironics CPAP machines with Plus in the name are not data capable just shows hours used.
The Pro and Auto are data capable machines.
