[Pressure] AirCurve 10 vs AirSense 11
#1
AirCurve 10 vs AirSense 11
In the past 2 days (after a sleep lab study last month-just got the results (paper copy) today),
I've switched from a AirSense 10 (pressure 15-20) to a AirCurve 10 VAUTO (pressure 9/13).
My events/hour went from .7/hr Sunday to 7-10/hr (Monday & Tuesday). I have not downloaded any OSCAR data yet (only used 2 days).
During the study, I advised the technician of my current pressure settings.
I like higher pressures (comfort-wise/very tolerable). I really do not think my IPAP of 13.0 is enough.

Am I "living dangerously/foolishly" if I go in to the clinician settings and just up the IPAP to 15 (or maybe 16) and not touch the EPAP setting, just to see if it helps? Or if the IPAP is changed (increased), should something be done with the EPAP?

I'm not trying to play doctor or sleep specialist, just want to sleep better. Only want to take baby steps.
Do a test/trial run and then call the doctor to make it official and cast it in stone.

I'd appreciate any input.

Regards,

TomWii

You REALLY red to use Oscar no one can give you any useful information without seeing data and we are the most familiar with Oscar.

I cosign what staceyburke had to say although I'm willing to bet that the majority of the events that make up your increased AHI are central events which is expected (and correctable) with the right settings. Please share some Oscar daily views of your sleep on the new Aircurve and we'll do what we can to help.

The explanation of what folks like to see is described in detail in the “Organise your OSCAR Charts” link in my signature.

CliffsNotes version: The graphs we need to see are: Events, Pressure, Flow Rate, Flow Limitation and Leak Rate. Always include the entire left side bar, minus the calendar and pie graph.

Set your display to the Standard view.
(View > Reset Graphs > Standard)
Take a screenshot of your Daily screen.

   * For a Mac: Use Fn+F12

First off...thank you for the replies.

Yes, I think I need more time/data before I do anything. My events/hr for last night (12/13/23) dropped down to .7/hr.
So I need more data. I'll put my time in (for another week or two) and then post the OSCAR information.

I was in too big of a hurry and apprehensive about going to a BIPAP (in addition to a few other life ongoing issues).

Thanks again! Thanks
The advice is appreciated.

Regards,

TomWii
