Going from Apap to ASV
So I've been on a Resmed Apap for 7 years with good results. Over the past year I've started waking up several times during the night, usually accompanied by stressful dreams. I was finally able to get a new sleep study a couple months ago, but it was inconclusive because I couldn't get much sleep.
Since then the waking has gotten worse, sometimes accompanied by me thrashing or having sleep paralysis. Out of desperation I got a Resmed Aircurve 11 ASV thinking I may be having Central Apnea that the Apap wasn't dealing with or maybe even causing.
Unfortunately, I haven't had much luck with finding the right settings. My Apap pressures were 8 to 13.
I am in the process of getting a new sleep study, but the last wait time was months.
Any suggestions about pressure settings or anything?
Thanks.
RE: Going from Apap to ASV
Welcome to Apnea Board,
You need to get the free OSCAR chart, using an SD card in the ASV while sleeping to capture the data. Then you can post screenshots here. You need to be able to show members what your ASV is doing.
You also need to request your detailed sleep study, and post it redacted of personal info.
What settings are you using on the ASV? I'll attach the ResMed ASV Titration guide. I'll suggest using:
ASV Auto mode
Maybe EPAP Min 5 Max 15
PS 3-15
No Ramp
Mask Primer
Positional Apnea
