Newbie looking for help with initial settings…
Good afternoon all!
I was recently diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea. I purchased a ResMed AirSense AutoSet 10 and an F20 mask (big time mouth breather). I was hoping to get some advice on initial settings to look at, before starting to dial them in and posting OSCAR results. The past two nights I've left it at the initial settings of 4-20, and it has absolutely shot to the moon, I am at work but I believe my average is 16.4, which is making a newbie like myself challenged by the CPAP.
My study is attached. Any help with initial settings or tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated.
Final document. Thanks!!
RE: Newbie looking for help with initial settings…
Welcome to the forum.
It was recommended you start with a range of 4-20 with a review after 5-6 WEEKS.
Most of us here would disagree. We find that most users need a higher minimum and we like to incorporate EPR as it aids in both comfort and efficacy. Below are my suggestions
Mode:Auto
Min Pressure=7 ( this allows for fu) utilization of EPR)
Max Pressure=20 (AutoSet's Max)
EPR=2, Fulltime
Ramp=Off
Please post your daily charts from OSCAR after your FIRST NIGHT!!! And expect the to need to be changed.
There is no way for a anyone to know what settings you will need. Some need real high pressures, others fairly low ones. Besides we commonly identify issues on our initial reviews. The initial settings are not very important because we feel that they need to be revised early and often until you are dialed in.
