Pressure when awake

Pressure when awake
I've recently moved to an Airsense 10 Autoset (via a Lowenstein Prisma Autoset which I didn't get on with).  I was having issues with my mask wheezing and whining but this has been sorted by putting on EPR level 3 at all times.

When falling asleep, the ramping at level 4 helps keep the noise really low and it's great. I can still hear inhalation a little more than I'd like but it's pretty good.

However, I often wake in the night and despite breathing absolutely fine, the level will often be 5-6 which is a bit noisier.  I'm surprised, given the lower limit of my settings is 4, that the machine doesn't drop back to 4.  If I start and stop the therapy, the pressure will remain at 4 whilst I remain awake, even when the ramp has finished.

Is there some kind of setting that could help with this?

Thanks in advance for any help.

RE: Pressure when awake
It takes a while for the instrument to reduce pressure. But eventually, it is done.
In this respect, there is a difference between the Standard and Soft mode settings; you might want to alter it and see. However, it will affect your therapy, too. Usually, the Standard is more efficient for males.

Most importantly, if your minimum pressure is 4, it is too low for an adult. Your minimum should be set at least 7 cm.

RE: Pressure when awake
Thanks for your response.

It's interesting as even if I'm lying in bed awake for an hour, the pressure doesn't drop to 4. I wonder why.

Thanks for the tip about standard and soft mode settings. I've updated mine to standard so let's see what happens.

I'll talk to my doctors about the minimum setting. I have no issues breathing when ramping up at 4 or when awake and it's dropped to 5-6. I think the average is about 8 and my AHI is always below 0.5 so I think I'm probably ok with it.
