QUICK QUESTION [mask leak issues]
One main problem...
Face mask is comfortable and fits nicely, but my pressure goes so high that it blows the gasket (pillow, LOL) completely, NO MATTER HOW TIGHT OR LOOSE THE STRAPS ARE. I loose all 20 points in myAir (resmed app) every night. I'm an HVAC engineer (i know air flow and pressure principals), but I cannot see any solution... hopefully you all are smarter
THANK YOU,
johduv
RE: QUICK QUESTION
The fact that you say the pressure goes so high indicates that your settings are not optimized. Follow reds directions above. Or we could just guess.

RE: QUICK QUESTION
THANK YOU for the reply, but please note that my mask is comfortable and fits nicely.
Again, the pressure (which I have turned down very slowly over a year to 12) is still too high, it blows the gasket (pillow) allowing air to escape between my pillow and face. One would think that if I tighten the head strap to hold the mask tighter against my face, it would keep the mask from lifting/leaking... it does not. And loosening doesn't help either. I lose all 20 point for "mask seal" in "myAir" app every night. Is that even important if my AHIs stay below 5??
If I may ask, what could I to learn from OSCAR that could help with the above problem?
Again, many thanks!

THANK YOU for the reply, but I have the same response... and would be pleased to hear any guesses, theories, speculations...
Please note that my mask is comfortable and fits nicely.

RE: QUICK QUESTION
WAG, Wild Ass Guess,
You are having positional apnea or excessive flow limitations.
Rant eliminated.
RE: QUICK QUESTION [mask leak issues]
Your profile says you're using a full face mask. Full face masks are notorious for leaking simply because there's more surface area to be sealed. Why are you using one?
Most people can use a standard nasal mask, even at higher pressures. Many times people think that they can only use a full face mask, but it's because they've never learned how to keep their mouth shut (no pun intended). There's several threads here dealing with how to stop "mouth breathing".

RE: QUICK QUESTION [mask leak issues]
It could be flow limits, the cpap raises the pressure when it is detected. Could be breathing from your mouth. It could be positional Apnea. I'm sure there are other reasons that I am not thinking about now. We can see this in OSCAR
