REM or Positional?
#11
RE: REM or Positional?
Not always. In this case, the OP has really steady breathing in nREM sleep, and the classically disordered pattern in segments that make sense to be REM. Not everyone has such a clear distinction between the phases, which I think is a good thing for OP if he can figure out how to get through all the sleep stages smoothly every night.

Some people's charts have such wiggly lines that it's hard to even make a guess. Most are somewhere in between.
Look, I'm an engineer, not a doctor! Please don't take my opinion as a substitute for medical advice.

Those periods always seem to align with my heaviest dreaming. So you guys confirmed my suspicions.

Hey there, I wanted to check and see if you found any solution. My charts look very similar to yours, but I wake up feeling terrible still every day. Did your REM even out over time and did you feel like that was the issue?

RE: REM or Positional?
Yes, I asked doctor to see my detailed sleep results and that also showed ~35 AHI REM and 7 AHI non REM. That confirmed it for me. Since my last post I’ve lost 45 lbs, got my deviated septum fixed, started Allermi, and using nasal pillow CPAP. Seems to be doing the trick. I can get away with just using CPAP second half of the night because that’s the bulk of REM. Very interesting stuff.
