Replacing DS1 with Airsense 10 auto for my mother
Hi all,

So both my mother and I both have severe apena's and we were both using Philips Dreamstation CPAP Pro's.
We only found out about the recall on the past weekend and both decided to discontinue using the machines and sought replacements. I am going to pick up two new Resmed Airsense 10 Autos tomorrow, I am comfortable in setting up my machine in auto mode and then tweaking the settings over time to optimize my sleep setup however I am unsure for my mother.

She was using the regular Philips Dreamstation CPAP Pro with the following settings
Mask - Philips Dreamwear nasal mask (the under the nose one)
Mode - CPAP
Pressure - 8.00 cmH2O
Flex Level - 3
Flex Lock - Off
Flex Mode - C-Flex+
Hose Diam. - 15mm
Humid. Lvl - 5
Humid. Mode - Heated Tube
Humidifier - Connected
Mask Res. Lock - Off
Mask Resist. - 1
Ramp Pressure - 4.00 cmH2O
Ramp Time - 20.00 Minutes
Ramp Type - SmartRamp
Tube Temp - 3

I have included two screenshots from some data I got from her a while ago in OSCAR, Could anyone provide some advice on how we can somewhat replicate improve these settings across to the Airsense Auto. I know I can set the Auto to just CPAP however we would like to take advantage of the auto function, so perhaps some advice on the range of pressure would be great.

The real trouble with this is I will set it up and then get the device to her, she lives over an hour away so hoping to get it right the first time around. Although I'm sure she would be able to navigate the clinician menu with some guidance over facetime or zoom.

Try
7-12
EPR=2 fulltime
Ramp off. Preferred otherwise minimize time because you/she will loose the rap time as not effective therapy every break. These are low pressures so ramp shouldn't be necessary
Ramp pressure 7 to allow room for the EPR

Thanks Gideon, I’m picking up the machines first thing tomorrow. We will try these settings and see how they go!

My provider set up my Auto-10 in CPAP mode with the same "fixed" pressure as my outgoing DS1 Pro.
The EPR feels quite a bit different than the Flex, mine was set to 2.  I like it.

I will most likely try Auto at some point, but for now I just wanted to transition with the least variables.
Imho, baby-steps provide clarity.
