[ResMed AirCurve 10] OTA SW upgrade: When? How?
Hi all!
I have just bought a brand new Resmed AirCurve 10 S/T, 0 hours run.
However I guess the machine was stored in the warehouse for a while because the device SW seems to be from 2015 or so: SX567-0302
The internal modem SW is: SX558-0308. Batch Lot is: 1111091, Device number is 608.
The machine is in NYC right now, powered on since saturday, airplane mode is off, the cellular reception is at its max: 5 green bars.
The signal is between -50 and -60 dBm.
I have also signed in to myAir, which says the last sync of the machine was few minutes ago.
However here are my questions:
- In the internal modem settings, the provider and service cells remain empty, is there any reason why?
- The SW of the machine is still SX567-0302. Any way to trigger the upgrade?
- If the upgrade does not happen, will I be missing any important algorithm enhancements?
Cheers
Thibault

Thats probably a question you should ask Resmed directly. Email them your serial number.
Also myAir is useless.

Do you have the best email to contact them to?
I have written to CustomerServiceCen@resmed.com and onlinestoresupport@resmed.com

You will have to take the machine in to the DME where you bought it if you want a firmware upgrade. Call ahead and make sure they have the capability to do it.
CPAP manufacturers don't seem to care if we get the updates or not. They consider the DME to be their customers, not us. They do not want us messing with the machine's settings at all, and they are especially careful about making sure no one can alter the compliance data as funding from insurance companies and governments is often tied to hours used.
They seem very secretive about their firmware upgrades, too. They are not announced as far as I can tell, and they don't tell us what deficiencies are corrected or which features are improved. They certainly won't be keen to reveal any information at all about their proprietary algorithms as they are trade secrets.

Thanks for the reply,
However I live in Singapore and bought the Resmed in US because it was 50% cheaper than here...
Do you think I should dare going to the local official Resmed reseller in Singapore and ask for an upgrade?
By the way, do you know if Resmed warranty is global?
RE: [ResMed AirCurve 10] OTA SW upgrade: When? How?
I would just use your machine as is there is regional firmware versions so the Europe version is different to the us version. If you took it into a DME in China it may end up being bricked (permantly killed) just use as is

Updated firmware does not seem to affect the functionality or therapy efficacy or options. The firmware updates are not publicly documented so we really don't know what they do.

Just my opinion, but if it's not broke, don't get it fixed.
