Resvent iBreeze 20A my take

Resvent iBreeze 20A my take
So I had a Resmed Arisense 10 autoset, that sprung a internal leak. Which caused me to have to buy a new machine. I ended up grabbing the Resvent iBreeze 20A as well it was a good deal and I was paying for it out of pocket. I had read online there where more then a few issues people ran into. However, as I kept reading it seemed allot of it was due to people not checking their settings and maybe turning stuff off. Now once I got mine I turned off things like the pressure relief and such. Overall, I've been using it a few months now and I can say my experience has been pretty good. I'm either lucky or my hunch about making sure things like the hose diameter and such was set properly. I guess time will tell, but I'm just going to count myself lucky for now. I'm going to have to dig through here more to see what others have run into.

I am glad to hear your success with the Resvent IBreeze 20A .

Perhaps you could reach out and help another forum member double check his machine?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Interesting, for several reasons. a family member got one of these as a loaner from a DME.

1. machine doesn't have a full FDA authorization. It's an Emergency Use they were granted in 2020 because of COVID
2. machine is unusually loud
3. APAP? no, not really. Machine rarely adjust pressures, even when it's tagging tons of flow limitations
4. Machine reports unusually low AHI's that aren't consistent with reality. 0.2? 0.0? 0.5? No way. I don't buy it, especially after looking at the flow rate data myself.

0/10.

PS. It will be interesting to see if the are ever granted a full FDA approval, or if the EUA just gets revoked eventually.

RE: Resvent iBreeze 20A my take
Just another datapoint. I've had a ResVent iBreeze 20A for only 5+ weeks but I have had good success with it especially for the price I paid (self-pay) esp. because somehow I was able to get it without a script. Mine is very quiet. I had to change mask type, hose diameter (it was set to 15 but they gave me a 19mm tube), etc.

The auto-adjustment has been working well for me since getting help here adjusting the settings and making sure the minimum pressure accounts for the EPR (called iPR on this machine).  Here's an example night in case someone cares down the line. The last segment was a (failed) trial of lying on my back, mostly awake but breathing meditatively, with a SSC. Apparently my airway is very sensitive to position. You can see the machine was trying though.

I can't speak to the underreporting claim though because I don't have anything to compare it to; but I have a lot of oxygen monitor data and it feels consistent to me.

That said, given the $399 price of the Resmed Airsense 10 "card to cloud" I would have gone with that if I had known/had the option.

Yeah, had the resmed card to cloud been on sale for 399 when I needed the machine I would have bought it. Wasn't the case. Also didn't know resvent was selling on a emergency use authorization. In anycase I changed my mask from a airtouch f20 to a Amara clearview and that has proven to be a huge success for me in combination with the new machine. That said I don't regret buy the machine. I'd never run any machine in apap though. If I learned one thing from my favorite cpap youtuber TheLankyLefty27, its that apap on most machines is pretty bad and you should go for cpap.

The URL to LankyLefty's YouTube channel also listed 2 other links, one being (AXG Sleep Diagnostics) and has been removed.
You can refer to this as Supplier #41]

That and the respiratory pressure relief is also not a good thing to have on. Turning that off and going to static pressure mad a large difference for me. Stuff I had to learn myself, but makes a large difference so check that channel out on YouTube its gotten a very long way.

Interesting about APAP and EPR - the impression I get here is that they are very useful for many patients, but it takes some refinement of settings and also elimination of positional apnea clusters (which cause ramp up of the pressure but the pressure can't help with that.) I do well with both APAP and EPR. When I do get positional apnea, I can sometimes tell I need to shift based on the feel of the pressure. It's a bit like the machine is starting to get aggravated with me.

I was just reading on Reddit that a lot of the APAP issues with the iBreeze 20A were fixed less than a year ago with a software update at compasshealthbrands. I checked and my software is more recent than the update, thankfully, as it looked intimidating to do.
