Should I buy an Airsense 10 or 11?
I'm thinking of buying a new CPAP before the end of the year since my deductible has been exhausted. The one I currently have was given to me by my mom and it is very noisy. It makes a humming noise on inhale and I have to sleep with earplugs. She had given it to my brother, first, who has his own Airsense 10 and he complained that the one given by my mom was noisy and his wasn't. I'm pretty sure it's an older version of the 10 that I have.
I'm not sure if I should get another Airsense 10 or get an 11. Would I benefit from the "for her" algorithm (I'm currently using same min and max pressures). Is the touch screen a better experience? Seems like from older posts I've seen, a lot of people preferred the 10. Is that still the case? How has the 10 changed from the older model? Is either version more likely to be quieter?
Would love to hear from users who've had both and have had the 11 for a while too.
Thanks!

I myself would definitely consider the ResMed 10 still. In part to help your transition, you are familiar with the 10 series. Normally they are pretty quiet compared to older models.
Not a direct comparison by brand, but my original CPAP was pretty loud, a straight CPAP from Remstar. Later I got a ResMed AirCurve 10 ASV which was noticably quieter. I don't have the dB specs, but even to me who can't seemingly hear things when asleep, did have issues with the old Remstar noise. Sounded like a shop vac.

The 10 & 11 have the same algorithm. The 10 has a proven track history, the 11 has a smaller motor and it just came out not to long ago. For me I would pick the 10.
RE: Should I buy an Airsense 10 or 11?
All the above. The 10 is a well-made machine with a larger motor. My wife is due for a replacement and I recommended that she should get the 10 if possible. I recently received a new Aircurve 10 Vauto. I just think the 10 series is a better implementation while the 11 looks like a cost-cutter. If you have any noise at all, just use the warranty.
RE: Should I buy an Airsense 10 or 11?
I had to return an AisSense 11 in exchange for a 10. My first 10 worked well for five years. I tried the 11 but found the chemical like smell and taste of the air it produced to be intolerable. The 11 did not seem to be as well made a machine as the 10. I think others agree with my opinion that the 10 is the best choice.
I only give suggestions from experience as a fellow CPAP user, not professional advice.

I have a 10. It is noise free.
My SIL has a 10 "for her" model. She likes it.
