Vpap vs Auto-Cpap - whats' the difference?
Just wondering if someone can explain the difference? When I see the description for a Vpap, it sounds just like an auto c-pap.

RE: Vpap vs Auto-Cpap - whats' the difference?
VPAP is ResMed's tradename for a bilevel machine. Not necessarily an auto.
For example the the VPAP S is a fixed bilevel machine.
Bilevel has one pressure for inhalation and another (lower) pressure for exhalation.
Typically the split between the two pressures is fixed.
VPAP auto is an auto bilevel. The VPAP auto can act very similar to an Autoset.
The VPAP auto can run up to 25 cm-H2O IPAP.
And, the split between IPAP and EPAP, called Pressure Support (PS) can be wider that the EPR=3 limit on an Autoset.
