Still can't sleep

Still can't sleep
I've been using a CPAP for about 10 years. The first two nights were perfect: slept 5 hours, woke up, did not need to pee, and went right back to sleep for 2 more hours. With a few exceptions, every night since then I've woken up 2 to 6 times a night (sometimes even more) and had to pee every single time. My sleep doctor is no help; he just says to go read a boring book until I'm sleepy. This doesn't work. I have to take off my mask and chin strap to put on my glasses. I do get sleepy, but putting the mask and chin strap back on wakes me up again. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, did you find a solution?

RE: Still can't sleep
As this has been going on by your description for 10 years and assuming you have tried many things, making a WAG at it would not be helpful.
Post some OSCAR charts and we can offer help based on data. Read the links in my signature on “Download OSCAR” and “Formatting OSCAR charts” if you need help.

RE: Still can't sleep
Unfortunately, I don't know what WAG stands for, and I don't know what an OSCAR chart is. I probably should, but I don't remember if my sleep doctor told me about these or not.

WAG = Wild-Assed Guess as opposed to a SWAG (Scientific Wild-Assed guess). Without data that is all we can do.
Start with reading the Wiki for information on sleep apnoea and OSCAR. https://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.ph...=Wiki_Home That will help with understanding how things work and why we approach things the way we do.

RE: Still can't sleep
Oscar is our free apnea reporting program that creates extremely useful charts of each night's sleep. In the black ribbon at the top of each page, you will find Oscar information. You need to download Oscar onto your computer and put a 32 GB SD card into the slot on your machine each night. When you want to see and post the chart, insert the SD card into the appropriate slot on your computer and download the information, creating a chart. You can then post the chart on this site. Folks here can then read the chart and help you change settings on your machine so you can achieve better therapy and comfort.
Best of luck with improving your sleep!
