Include the placement and removal of the SD card with your testing. I think you would find the placement of the AS11 SD card difficult at best.
OSCAR was forked from Sleepyhead after it was shutdown. The interface should be familiar to you. iMHO much improved.

OSCAR can also be used with your DS2 which I too would keep as a backup. Nothing else will work with the DS2 as PR has encrypted the detailed data to prevent you from having access to it.
