[Treatment] Auto Vs Fixed pressure...opinions?
#11
RE: Auto Vs Fixed pressure...opinions?
Update on my situation. Pressure settings changed. Went to doctor during the week as I'm still tired during the day, brain fog, grumpy etc. He's sending me for an ultrasound as he thinks I may have fatty liver. My ferritin levels are raised...
Anyway,is there any futher tweaks that could be recommended based on these screenshots?

You are doing way better with autoset than with fixed pressure. I suggest that you raise your pressure settings to 8.5-17. I think your therapy and comfort will both improve.

Thanks. I've changed them now....what's the thinking of setting the upper range high at 17? Sorry,I'm new to all this so just curious

it takes quite a while to adjust to carefully crafted CPAP treatment. I was stuporous for a month. You might indeed have other issues, but if the doc thinks the unit is plug and play with instant great sleep, and has that as a basis for a whole bunch of unrelated tests, s/he is likely clueless. And the nurse has zero idea. By now, you know more than they do, and have better tools going forward.

PS I would be dying at Pressure 4. It’s not a mask problem. It’s a lazy doctor problem.

I suggested 17 because you were often bumping up against the 14, which was the highest pressure allowed then, so it was clear that you needed a higher pressure setting.

Thanks for all your replies, appreciate your help.
One question,I keep waking up with air blowing down my throat....feels my cheeks are being puffed out! I know that's to keep my airways open but would it be an idea to lower the higher pressure of 17 to prevent this as it's waking me up.

Toby, ask Deborah K about her CPAP to Bilevel thread. You share a lot in common and could probably resolve a lot of sleep issues with a Vauto.
