CPAP changing to BiPAP
I have been using CPAP with a pressure of 11 for 6-7 years with no changes. I was just retested and it looks like I might be switched to BiPAP. Looking for any suggestions and advice you might have to offer. Thank you. Lisa

BiPAP comes in a few different flavors. Fixed bilevel involves setting EPAP and IPAP pressures, and those remain constant. An auto bilevel uses a minimum EPAP and allows for setting a minimum and maximum pressure support (PS). PS=IPAP-EPAP. Most bilevel machines can be run in CPAP mode just like your current machine.
Before we get into any details, what findings make it look like you need BiPAP?

Hi Lisa, welcome to Apnea Board.
As Sleeprider said, can you give us some details about your situation? Why are you changing to bipap? Normally this is because you can't accommodate to a fixed pressure machine or the constant pressure is too high for you. But if you've been at 10 cm for several years, that's probably not the problem. On the other hand, if you are experiencing central apneas, then you will likely need a bilevel ASV (auto servo ventilation) machine - which is a whole different kettle of fish.
