So I didn't have an understanding family doc. I didn't have any say picking a sleep doc. I complained regularly to family doc.  Turns out he sent a report after every visit. I never knew that.  My sleep quality was terrible.  During that period---total of 20 years I can count the number of times I felt refreshed the day after therapy on fingers of one hand.

It takes a long time to get a family doc in the Greater Toronto Area. Years.

Dave,
That's the magic of universal healthcare, where people don't even get to choose their own care provider and pay for it out of pocket. What can I say:-)
You should educate some Americans who think Canada has the best healthcare system in the world and want one established in the US too:-)
I hear that at least in one province in Canada (Alberta) they have a 2-Tiered healthcare system where people can choose to have their own private healthcare and pay for it or choose to be covered by the state.
Maybe you should consider moving to Alberta:-)

Too old S Manz

Besides we are copying the US system. One change at a time.

There is a lot of medical tourism to Bellingham, WA as well as to Costco for milk and to fill 5 gallon gas cans.

LindenHotAir I've had to wait months to see a specialist, then months to get an MRI.

When I had my right knee scoped (twice) same thing. Yet a pro hockey player walked right in to see the orthopeadic surgeon, and had MRI done same day.

Finally, my late Sister had cancer treatment in Ontario and BC. The BC treatment in her opinion was much better. She was an Ontario resident.
