Unable to fully open OSCAR on Windows PC
Hello, I've been using OSCAR to analyse SD card without problems for several months. Today I got an error message saying there was a graphics card conflict and it would revert to and older OSCAR version. I still can't get past the initial screen, which has my Profile, Brand, name and last import date. The 5 Tabs which usually appear under the  File/View/Data/Help row are reduced to Profile/Statistics(this is greyed out). I can't get past this screen to see the graphs etc. I've tried a restart, then an uninstal+restart, then a re-install and restart - all the same result. I'm seeing a Sleep Service Consultant this Wednesday and wanted to show her some of the data on the Laptop. Any advice - am I missing something simple??
Thanks

RE: Unable to fully open OSCAR on Windows PC
Hi martinmclellan504!  -  Welcome
It sounds like your graphics driver got updated.  Try holding down the <SHIFT> key and start OSCAR.  This will cause OSCAR to toggle to another graphics method.  If this corrects your problem, do not use this method any further while staring OSCAR, or you will be back at the current driver. The reason I mention this is that some have used it each time they start OSCAR, then report that it only fixes the problem half the time.

Please keep us updated as to your success or failure.

RE: Unable to fully open OSCAR on Windows PC
Thank you. I tried the Shift+ open Oscar and got the same partially opened screen. If I now try and open without the shift key, I get a white screen with just the top text line showing ( Logo then Oscar 1.5.3 (Profile : martinmclellan504) and no other text). Tried to roll back display driver but that option is greyed out. (Intel ® Iris ® Xe Graphics) and events tab of card doesn’t have a recent date event.
All other software seems to work fine. Not sure what’s happened!
Thanks again for your prompt reply.

Try this. Rename your OSCAR_Data folder to something like "OSCAR_Data_bak", then try starting OSCAR. See if it starts and prompts you to create a data location.

RE: Unable to fully open OSCAR on Windows PC
Sorry for the delay, I did somehow manage to create a new profile, import data from SD card leave the program running on the toolbar. My consultant was very impressed with the OSCAR program and the level of detail it provides. It seems they have to rely on the RESMED outputs from the machine which don't seem to show much detail (ie the duration of the apnoeas or the respiratory rate). So well done everyone on your team!

The program suddenly still won't run on my Samsung Windows 11 laptop despite trying the fixes you have suggested.

If I close the program, when I open it again I get stuck on the screen which precedes the screen with the large pictorila icons for disk import, daily view etc. The drop down tabs still drop, but when I select daily view nothing happens. I've again tried to uninstal, disk clean, restart, reinstal. When I open the program it seems to already know my user - so I'm not sure if it was fully unistalled? when I then import from SD via drop down tab it says succesful import but doesn't allow viewing. All woks well on my old laptop with my origimal user name/profile.

Any advice would be helpful!

thank you
