Differing Supplies replacement schedule??
Does anyone know of any meaningful follow up to the post by Uncle Nicko where he reveals the difference between when it is recommended to replace cpap items in the U.S. vs AUS? Pretty startling and his first impression was mine too - that insurance plays a role in how often the companies can get reimbursed, and that dictates how often they are "recommended" to get replaced, needed or not.. He points out most items can last longer (usually twice as long) as the recommended U.S. timeframes. Video here:

RE: Differing Supplies replacement schedule??
There is a simple explanation. ResMed is in the business of selling machines and supplies. So it makes perfect sense to align your advice with the repayment schedule of Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers. The video says it all.
As for the machine replacement, somewhere about 18,000 - 22,000 hours, the error message reads "motor life exceeded," which is meaningless unless you are having issues with your machine. I got a new machine and had the old one reconditioned as a backup with a new motor, cleaning, pressure set, and a motor time reset. The truth is that with care and regular maintenance, you replace things when they stretch or break or are soiled beyond cleaning.
