You won't regret the Resmed. I have looked at thousands of charts from different members, and the therapy is consistently better with users of the Resmed machine. Anyone that thinks the Philips Flex is remotely similar to Resmed EPR is s shill or ignorant. Just sayin'.

Interesting, thank you! I’ll make sure to ditch the Dreamstation then. Smile

RE: Help interpreting OSCAR data?
So, I have changed my mask to a Phillips Dreamwear Respironics full face mask, dude to being told I need a full face during my sleep study. I have not changed to the ResMed Airsense machine yet, they said they wanted to see if just changing the mask and a few pressure settings would help first and then after the weekend, if everything still looked bad, we would switch machines. So far, with the new mask, I feel like it’s so hard to exhale… even on a Flex of 3. It’s making me rip the mask off after only an hour or two. Sad

I’m having trouble with the mask fit as well, I have to have it very specific to have no leaks around my nose. I’m not sure if it stays during the night since it has to be so precise. I also use the cloth things that are supposed to help with leaks and it’s still not 100% right. I tried the ResMed F30i originally and couldn’t get it to not leak at all, so that one is out. I would rather not have a mask that has a hose in the front… and I got sores on my nose right between my eyes with those.

I’m really hoping that maybe the new machine will help with the exhale issues since the EMR is different from Flex, fingers crossed. And I guess I’m kind of stuck with my F30i mask so hopefully I can make that work. I will follow up with some OSCAR data at a later date after the new machine!

RE: Help interpreting OSCAR data?
EPR means the pressure drops with exhale, and stays low until you inhale, then pressure comes in and supports your breath. Philips is very different. Here is a chart showing how Resmed changes the mask pressure with every breath. This is just an example of mask pressure and respiratory flow.  This is just EPR at 2, and you can use up to 3-cm of pressure relief.  Note how with EPR the pressure is only briefly at the higher pressure during peak inspiration, and pressure stays low most of the time. This makes a huge comfort difference.
